Provided both amounts are in one record - then

Payment {=({Mergefield Fieldname1} + {Mergefield Fieldname2})}

should do the trick. If the fields are in different records, then it is far
more complicated and you need to have a look at Cindy's web site for
inspiration

Hello,
The amount due is "payment". The variable "payment" is not a merge
field, but is actually the sum of two merge fields.
In other words, one of my merge fields is 10 and the other is 20. I
need the document to say "The amount due is "30".
I have searched and searched, but can't find the specific formula. If
anyone can help, would you please furnish specific format to be used?
Thanks in advance,
Barbara

Hi Nabour,

1. What's the data source?

2. Which version of Word?

3. Are (or can you put) the two merge fields into a table?
